So I'm even more scarce online than I was before.  

I got a job.  Outside the house and everything.  I'm in the Accounting department at a local manufacturer.  Actually he's a BIG manufacturer...He just donated $10,000,000  to help build a new hospital.

The thing is...is that he's crazy.  Seriously.  He's cheaper than shit.  He won't let the accounting department use the shredders because we might wear them out.  Um....  He washes the rolling hand towel things HIMSELF to save money.  He watches the supply closet like a HAWK.  And we have to stay busy.  NEVER idle.  No texting.  No internet.  

Now I'm okay with the no phone/internet/idleness thing.  I AM there to work.

BUT...he hired TWO of us for ONE open position.  I just found that out this week.  We've been there for 4 weeks now.  And there's not enough work.  Heck, I don't think there's enough work right now for the department...even if BOTH of us weren't there.  I don't get it.

They just came off the busy season...it's connected to farming.  But I spend some of my days doing absolutely NO accounting and I try to find stuff to do like helping the sales guys or making new files and labels.  

And if we get super slow?  There's always shredding copies of old checks...BY HAND.  And one day I did it for SIX HOURS.  

Hard to look busy when there's nothing to do, and since I'm new, there aren't any other responsibilities that are permanently assigned to me...like the file vault or what not.  And the other ladies say it's only going to GET WORSE as we get closer to winter!  NOT something I'm looking forward to.

But the pay is good.  As good as what Greg was making in Des Moines without the commute.

The sad thing is, is that I've already applied for another job...at a place where one of my clients works.  But if they don't pay enough?  I can't take the job.  It's an all around accounting thing: Payables, Receivables, Payroll.  I have much experience in Payables.  I have some experience in Receivables and very little experience in Payroll.  But I'm a quick learner...  *fingers crossed*

I hate to job hop like this, but I need something more substantial.  And the threat of forced days off and using up all my PTO for them in the winter is NOT something I like.  

And I'm still doing the daycare part time.  And I'm going to soccer and volleyball games for Jen.  And just busy being the mother of 4.  

Art is on the back burner...go figure.   BUT I plan to do something this month...just an OSWOA, but it's something...

Anyway...just thought I'd let y'all know what's going on....
