I finally got a new all-in-one printer on Monday!!  It's an Epson Workforce WF 7610 and scans up to 11x17 and prints up to 13x19!  NO more stitching artworks together in photoshop!!  And I got my old edition of photoshop to work on my laptop!!  So watermarks are a breeze again, and I can tweak my scans and resize as needed.  Though for some reason I can't get photoshop to work on my desktop (Windows 7)  My laptop is Windows 8.  Weird.  

So I have a ton of ideas and of course it's coming up on busy season sports-wise for the girls.  A Varsity soccer player and a High School track runner.  Plus 2 younger girls in club soccer.  I'll try to make it work.

I'm also working on a website.  dawnobrecht.wix.com/fantasyart  It's minimal right now, but now that I got my scanner working, I can add to it easily!

And I've started working on my long, on-going Darkness Project.  I WILL finish it...yes I will.

Anyway...I really am trying to be more artsy and active on DA.

So I realize that it's been a while...like 5 years since I've been active on DA.  It's been a busy 5 years.  I'm working full time outside of the house...the same job that my last journal entry was about.  My oldest is a junior and involved in soccer, choir, and show choir.  And she works.  My 15 year old is a freshman.  She's involved in choir, band, cross country and track.  My 12 year old is a wonderful writer and an artist.  I'm making an account for her on here.  Friend her!!  

But I've been drawing on and off over the past year.  I've started about 50 pieces and finished a half a dozen.  I'll upload them as soon as I get my new scanner on Monday.  I'm getting back into an old project.  I would like to stay active on here!  I've been stalking stock photos for over a year.  

I'm starting over notification-wise.  I simply couldn't wade through over 2,000 notifications.  lol

Anyway.  Hope to see y'all around and I'll try my best to stay active!

So I'm even more scarce online than I was before.  

I got a job.  Outside the house and everything.  I'm in the Accounting department at a local manufacturer.  Actually he's a BIG manufacturer...He just donated $10,000,000  to help build a new hospital.

The thing is...is that he's crazy.  Seriously.  He's cheaper than shit.  He won't let the accounting department use the shredders because we might wear them out.  Um....  He washes the rolling hand towel things HIMSELF to save money.  He watches the supply closet like a HAWK.  And we have to stay busy.  NEVER idle.  No texting.  No internet.  

Now I'm okay with the no phone/internet/idleness thing.  I AM there to work.

BUT...he hired TWO of us for ONE open position.  I just found that out this week.  We've been there for 4 weeks now.  And there's not enough work.  Heck, I don't think there's enough work right now for the department...even if BOTH of us weren't there.  I don't get it.

They just came off the busy season...it's connected to farming.  But I spend some of my days doing absolutely NO accounting and I try to find stuff to do like helping the sales guys or making new files and labels.  

And if we get super slow?  There's always shredding copies of old checks...BY HAND.  And one day I did it for SIX HOURS.  

Hard to look busy when there's nothing to do, and since I'm new, there aren't any other responsibilities that are permanently assigned to me...like the file vault or what not.  And the other ladies say it's only going to GET WORSE as we get closer to winter!  NOT something I'm looking forward to.

But the pay is good.  As good as what Greg was making in Des Moines without the commute.

The sad thing is, is that I've already applied for another job...at a place where one of my clients works.  But if they don't pay enough?  I can't take the job.  It's an all around accounting thing: Payables, Receivables, Payroll.  I have much experience in Payables.  I have some experience in Receivables and very little experience in Payroll.  But I'm a quick learner...  *fingers crossed*

I hate to job hop like this, but I need something more substantial.  And the threat of forced days off and using up all my PTO for them in the winter is NOT something I like.  

And I'm still doing the daycare part time.  And I'm going to soccer and volleyball games for Jen.  And just busy being the mother of 4.  

Art is on the back burner...go figure.   BUT I plan to do something this month...just an OSWOA, but it's something...

Anyway...just thought I'd let y'all know what's going on....

So yeah.  It's been another 6 months since I last visited.  I check DA out every day for a while, but then life just overwhelms me and I forget about it.  Until I have new art.   Not great of me, but eh, it's the life of a child care provider who works 10-12 hours a day, has 4 kids of her own (one who is an EXTREMELY busy 13 month old!), and has been trying to entertain both her own kids and the daycare more.  

Anyway, I actually managed to finish a painting.  Crazy, I know.  A full size one (for me, I know it's still small compared to what some of you do...) at that.  AND I have another 9x12 painting in the works!  o.O

I want to art more often, but it's so hard to find the time and energy!!  

Anyway, I'm trying to go through my backlogged deviations on here.  Only 1300 deviations/journals to go through!  Of course I can't comment on them all, but I'm trying to pick a few out from each person I watch.  LOL  Still a bunch, but maybe more manageable?

Someday I'll learn how to balance all my online venues and my life.  Maybe.
